A good one, I must say, a very good one. The game writing seems like the work of the professional and I haven't encountered any technical issues. The combination of these features is actually pretty uncommon these days.. Ridiculous motion blur plus abysmal framerate makes for a pretty bad time. Couldn't stand playing for any longer than I did. On top of that, I think my game broke within like 7 minutes.. I would like to start off by saying that this game is just not good. Story doesnt make any sense at all, theres no run key, and its not even scary. Its more of just suspende than it is scary. Thank god i only paid $2.39 for this game because it is crap.. You find yourself in a house, or is it a house, where you can't seem to remember what is happening. There's a door to get out, but there's something odd going on. You soon find out that sometimes, when you close doors, and then reopen them the rooms change on the other side of the door. Reality seems to be changing as you move through this place, but what is it, and will you be able to escape it?Graphically Wooden Floor looks really generic, and I feel like a lot of the game consists of sample pieces that came with the graphics engine. That is not to say that the game looks bad, but it just seemed like there was a lot of duplication to try to fill the game. There are several parts of the game where there's actually some skill involved in getting through a section, and these are actually the sections that I liked the least as I felt like these were the sections where I was at the mercy of the physics engine/collision detection, and it was frustrating. There are times where you have to time jumps, land just perfect, or beware of objects that could slightly move you to a position that would spell your death. The sounds of the game were interesting, there was a TON of creaking wood, which I guess is just a result of the title of the game, but after a while the constant creaking probably should have changed rhythms or fade in and out to break up what was going on in the game. The best music in the game had to be in the room with the crying mask, I couldn't put my finger on it but there was something very familiar about it and at the same time it was something that I had no issue to listening to over and over again.Ironically that part of the game, if you are like me, will be played over and over again because of the difficulty of that section. The thing is that all of a sudden you absolutely have to pay attention to all that is happening around you, something you really never had to do throughout the rest of the game. The thing about this game is that its only about 43 minutes long, and at the end I kind of felt like there should have been more. I'm of the opinion that if you are going to use some sort of mechanics or have a difficult part that you're going to use that concept more than once, but the developer never did that, which kind of left me wondering why there wasn't more of the game.Don't get me wrong, I liked playing that game, and yes I had some frustrating parts where I was about ready to strangle someone, but it was interesting. I would have really liked to have known a little bit more about what the heck was going on, but I did like the fact that there were helpful notes scattered around that kind of kept you on the right path. In the end I'm going to have to give this game a 6.9 out of 10. There's just not enough, and except for the very end there was no really substance to the game.. Closing doors behind you! what a good idea. (play it, you'll get it)+ : creepy, no life-taking jumpscares (that maybe "-" for some people, not me tho hehe), nice controls, ok graphics, wonderful idea, platforming parts, adorable books, fun boss fight (or whatever it is, may be "-" ) - : no menu (you get to choose resolution and gamma tho), no sprint! (this one is annoying) ((although sometimes it felt like im spritning)), shortFav moment: try to fail good amount of times at platforming section when stuff's floating.Despite mixed reviews, GG, recommended to buy on SALE, 7/10 would wood again. Im not one to play too many horror games, but tihs one proves to be quite the gem. Put together the unpredictibility(thats a word right?), the eerie atmosphere, and the all around unsettling soundtrack, and you get a game that is worth every cent you put towards it. This game takes a different approach with horror. Instead of random pop-up jump scares, it'll try to creep you out by getting inside of your head with things such as floating books and evil eyes. The only issue (if it can even be called that) in my opinion is the lack of a save system, but when this game is as short as it is, there really isnt a point to a save system, so mabey its just me fussing about over nothing. In any case this game is one worth playing and will definitley give you something to think about next time you go into the attic.10/10. What the ♥♥♥♥ is my chair doing on the ceiling. If you are too cheap to buy Amnesia: Dark Descent and you love ♥♥♥♥♥♥ knockoffs, this is the game for you.. wooden crap is a better name.. Ehhh. Not really a horror game in my opinion. Kinda eerie with a dark atmosphere and several times you see a random object appear and move on its own. Played it for an hour and i've had enough.. The more horror games you play, the harder it gets to review them. You're never quite sure whether you're bored because you've suffered the same jump scares, the same scenarios, the same possessed furniture flying around the room a hundred times before or because the game is genuinely dull, directionless and uninspired. It's a little bit of both for Wooden Floor, although I'd have to say right from the start that an obvious effort has been made to stand clear of the worst cut-and-paste asset jobs on Steam. It's a nice looking game with a serviceable eerie score that earnestly attempts to build up a creepy atmosphere without jackhammerng your speakers with obnoxious jump-scares.With that said, the game is far too repetitive to keep anybody but the most inexperienced horror fan on edge. You move from one room to the next, tracking down keys. The hook is that Wooden Floor is supposed to be procedurally generated but you have to close the doors behind you to allow that to happen which completely shatters the fluid disorientation that the game wants to mine out of that mechanic and it's something that has been done far better in even the most mediocre of this platform's indie games. Even Hektor, as decidedly average as it was, managed a far better job of dizzying its player with its random room generation. There's the occasional attempt to break things up with a chase sequence here and a boss fight there but they feel like late afterthoughts, as if Wooden Floor itself knows that it's struggling to hold your attention and so procedurally generates you something else to play in a panic. Not terrible. Nowhere near interesting. Full review below.https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=y-zQqv79ork
